HOW TO MAKE NOOLKOL KURUMA?
NOOLKOL KURUMA- A DELICIOUS CURRY MADE WITH KOHLRABI (NOOLKOL).
Noolkol kuruma was taught to me by my MIL. She makes a flavor packed mixed vegetable kuruma and they eat it with rice. Yes. That s a thing. And she adds Noolkol to this mixed vegetable kuruma. So one day, when i faced the ominous situation in which i had to consume two noolkols, i decided to make kuruma. And needless to say, it was a hit.
Turnip in Tamil
Noolkol is Kohlrabi in English. It is often confused with turnips. They both belong to the same family as the cabbages and cauliflowers- Cruciferous vegetables. Kohlrabis are also known as Ol-Kopi in many eastern indian states. And these can be eaten raw or cooked. In Tamil, these veggies are called as Kosukizhangu.
As for Noolkol Kuruma, they add a beautiful texture and flavor to it.You can also make this noolkol kuruma with a combination of other veggies like carrot or peas. If you are looking for more kuruma ideas, then check out mixed vegetable kuruma and navratna kurma.
